Secret Simon
We found out that head chef Simon has talents beyond his culinary skills. With a degree in photography Simon's agreed to help take some food pictures of new menu dishes - why let talent like that get away!!
Guest Book - read it online
Our reputation is paramount. Tripadvisor is a great tool because it allows others to read amazing independent reviews about Holdsworth House and allows us chance to continually improve; in this game you should never get complacent. Without reviews and recommendations, we have no customers because increasingly people buy from places that have been recommended by someone they know. If you're in the hotel have a look at our guest book on reception, there are hundreds of amazing testimonials, including one penned by the one and only Jamie Oliver - yes he was here not long ago.
If you're not yet in the hotel you can read some of these on our website, plus there's wedding reviews from Hitched.co.uk too. Enjoy! x

Baby Shower Tea Parties
Our LBDs (Little Beautiful Dining rooms) never go out of fashion. Many people use our gorgeous private dining rooms for engagements, birthdays and anniversary parties. Now we've added Baby Shower Tea Parties to the list. Perfect for 10 to 15 friends, we can decorate the room with bunting, candles and pink or blue balloons (or both), serve a delicious pink cocktail on arrival and 'deliver' a special baby shower themed afternoon tea! Plus we're offering to arrange our beautician Gina to give relaxing foot massages or manicures if you want a bit of pampering. It's on the website now.
Wedding Fair February 19th
Interest in the wedding fair has been really strong - so we're expecting to be busy. If you've registered recently you should have received our email outlining the lunch menu you can book for the day, plus our amazing new sweetie station and cheese tower. We will email all registered attendees each week in the run up to the event giving you more important information and a sneaky peak of what to expect on the day. Importantly if you want to have a meeting with Claire Nicholl our wedding coordinator to discuss your plans in detail, we ask that you make an appointment on a date before or after the wedding fair so Claire can get you a cuppa and spend some time chatting properly - something that probably won't be possible at the fair. Call her on 01422 240024.
Say Cheese Gromit
Wallace & Gromit would have a field day with our new Cheese Towers, another great idea for wedding couples. For £250 you can choose three of your favourite cheeses and we'll create a special tower - like a wedding cake but a bit more pungent. This can be available for your guests after dessert and carried over to your evening celebration. Served with crackers, grapes and chutneys, it's a 'Cracking Good Job Gromit'.
Chair Covers
The new chair covers at Holdsworth House are easy to fit, require no ironing (hooray!) and are really good quality. So we can be confident that every time we put them on the chairs, they will look fabulous. Brides can hire these for £2.50 per cover, which includes a beautiful organza sash in ivory, latte, burgundy or spring green. If you want any another colour, feel free source your own and still hire our white chair covers for a reduced price of £2 each. (Polite note: There are so many variations on the market that if you do source your own chair covers, we can't dress the chairs for you because we simply can't guarantee the quality of the finished look).
We're so on trend with Vintage
The team at Holdsworth House has been busy coming up with fantastic new ideas for weddings with a difference. With 400 years of history and The Queen's Jubilee this year, there's never been a better time to draw on our antique inspirations and offer something unique to wedding guests. Vintage, retro, kitsch - call it what you will it's all so 'on-trend' darling, and our eclectic collection of vintage cups and saucers have gone down a storm (in a teacup, groan...). So whether we're serving afternoon tea in the restaurant or wedding guests on the lawn, you can now hire our lovely crockery out for £1 a set.
